Definitely a must-do. The price was very fair and the facilities were excellently maintained. We went right after the Conservatory opened. The butterflies and birds were active, flitting around and the butterflies were landing on people. The room is humid, so be warned if you're sensitive to heat. Everything was very clean and it was fun to see the butterfly pupas and the newly-hatched baby button quail.

This is billed as one of the top sights in Key West but be forewarned that you are paying to basically walk through an over-sized greenhouse. The whole walk-through is over rather quickly and there is no real chance to relax and enjoy the butterflies as people are coming up behind you on the little walk-through path. Yes there are butterflies, but there is an over-abundance of one or two kinds and they don't really land on you and hang out. I went through this with my nine-year-old daughter and she thought it was " okay." Quite honestly, she had way more fun walking Duval with an ice-cream!

I've always wanted to go to a butterfly house so I jumped at the chance to go here. The butterflies were amazing. I'm from northern NY so the butterflies in here were different from what I'm used to. I was afraid it might be too hot in there as it was a warm day out but it was tolerable. If you want to take pictures, just be patient. Many people are in there also trying to get pictures. There's not time limit as to how long you can stay in there. It isn't a big place but there's birds in there to watch also.

This was our second trip to the Butterfly Conservatory, and while we enjoyed it last time, it was definitely improved this time. The have added a pair of flamingoes, who provide a noisy soundtrack to the visit. There were hundreds of butterflies out, and many provided great photo ops. The small finches and button quail add life and interest to the conservatory. Despite all the life and number of visitors, the conservatory was amazingly clean. The gift shop has a large assortment of items for sale as well, mostly butterfly themed.Definitely worth a trip; you can take as much or as little time as you want, and come back throughout the day for the admission price.

My husband and I went to the butterfly conservatory because the other couple we were traveling with wanted to see it, but were surprised at how interesting it was. On the way into the conservatory there is a small room with an informative movie about the life cycle of butterflies. Then you walk through two sets of doors into a beautiful greenhouse type of space with countless kinds of butterflies, birds, turtles, and plantlife. Despite being uncomfortably hot outside, it was very pleasant inside. It took a few minutes to get used to having butterflies flying all around and into you, but we got some great pictures and ended up coming back again later in the day (it's an all-day ticket). There is also a very nice giftshop. Highly recommended - you won't regret a visit here. FYI - look for a $2 off coupon in some of the tourist publications.

Recommended for all ages. The btterflies like posing for pictures. The short documentary before entry into the garden area is well worth viewing and adds to the experience.

Interesting site where you can relax, enjoy the butterflies and other wildlife, and learn a lot. It does get warm inside, so dress accordingly.

Finally we found a nice affordable attraction in heavily overpriced Key West.Great garden with nice flowers and lots of beautifull butterflies.A nice relaxing environment.A must do if you like butterflies.
