Such a beautiful place to while away the time, just watching the World go by. All the locals seem to have a friendly word in passing. We went on the traditional boat cruise on the river, good value at RM 19 for an hour, although they tacked on 20 mins at the end to visit a lapis bakery

A good place to relax and enjoy the views of the opposite river, take a small boat just 50cents fare to the opposite river, take an evening cruise is wonderful to enjoy the amazing views of the city and village along the river. cruise cost RM60 but some hotel (Tune hotel for guest) do give voucher discount of 50%. Wonder into the old market place, old shops, Chinese museum is just at the water front,

Great place to walk and enjoy views of the river and life on both sides. Variety of restaurants, both in taste and price. Clean and safe. Chance to see fishers at work. "Cruise" across the river felt a little "sketchy" but was an adventure.

This whole area of kuching is my favourite part.You can stroll along the river, catch a ferry and explore the other side, or just wander along with an Ice cream.If you explore the side streets adjoining the esplanade and look closely you can see the colonial heritage.

Suzu

You can find some good & decent meals here :) Esplanade is generally clean & well maintained. A good spot for family hang outs.

The Esplanade starts near the Grand Margarita Hotel and finishes near the Square Tower. The walk is very pleasant either day or night with day walks allowing you to join a Sarawak River cruise of your choice. Day walks also allow the viewing of the historical plaques tracking the Sarawak area history. Night walks allow a visitor the lights of Kuching city.
