Booked this excursion while on a cruise. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible the day we went. Cold and windy. We really couldn't enjoy any of the activities at Blue Lagoon, which was disappointing because it looked like such a great place. Tons of activities for families, good food, a beautiful lagoon that would have been great to swim in. They have a dolphin and sealion facility. Because of the weather, we spent a few hours just watching the dolphins and the dolphin trainers. The dolphins were beautiful and we really enjoyed seeing them. If I'm ever in the bahamas again, I will surely stop here.

We were there with March break cruise. We bought the tickets from NCL. The boat ride was about 45 min but water was choppy. They have a calm lagoon beach. We did not take any Dolphin encounters but it was fun to watch. Lunch package was average. In general, if you are in Bahamas and looking for daily fun other than Paradise island, this is one of the activities that I recommend for families with kids.

Such a thrilling experience being in the water with the dolphins. They swim right up to you and we were face to face. Such gentle creatures. We got to pet their bellies, feel their teeth, feed them fish, dance with them, hug them and get pushed across the water. The trainers were personable and we simply had a great time! The pictures are pricey and the package with the video only came with four photos on the disc. I said that I wanted the video, but wanted all of our photos, not just four. She agreed, so we got every picture, plus the video for the same price. The beach area is not really a swimming area....more of a play area for kids. I would recommend going back to the ship after the dolphin experience is over, rather than staying at the beach.

Dolphins were fun, we booked the experience and got to kiss and hug the dolphin. The pictures were super expensive and we were encouraged to pay for a more expensive experience almost immediately after we arrived. The food was okay, pizza and hot dogs.. mostly junk. Everything cost money after the dolphin experience.. there were several things to do for a price.. mini water park, water bikes and such. The beach was nice and clean.

I visited Blue Lagoon Island when cruising with Norwegian (breakaway). The island was buit-E-FULL. Quite, clean, and friendly. I did not book the exertion with the cruise line because if were to have bad weather & if it were to be a rainy, cold you do not get a refund. So when we disembarked the ship we (me & my 7 y/o) walked over to the Blue Lagoon port/part and kindly asked how we would go about joining the ship (45 min AMAZING ride to the island) and the exertion, they invited me onto the ship (no charge) and advised me to pay once we arrive. I purchased the Dolphin swim which was $198 pp w/ tax vs over $200 booking with the cruise line. my only suggestion is i recommend doing the encounter with a young child, my daughter LOVED the dolphins but was a bit nervous/scared afterwards we then layer on the lounge/beach chairs the rest of the day and had fun on the water inflatables (all of no additional charge). a day at the island is about $60 alone so it all worked out. =) help my review helped. :)

After a short walk, you get on a catamaran that takes you to Blue Lagoon. The ride there is longer since they show you the houses of the rich. Make sure you have shoes since you walk on a pier and there are a lot of rocks. Once on the beach, it was sort of a free for all. People had to move chairs down by the beach and there was no assistance. There is an aqua inflatable park which my kids loved. I have an 8 and 3 yr old and they both needed significant help to do the obstacle course or to climb up a very high slide. My arms were sore for a few days. The one thing that bothered me was that if you book through the cruise, you must pay $15 to get a life jacket and participate. If you purchase the excursion through Blue Lagoon, entry is free. Each person is allowed one meal and two drinks. They also have some land activities, inflatables, soccer, etc. If you go the very end of the beach, it is very quiet and the water is perfectly clear. On the way back, they docked at a different pier, which seemed to be a way to force people to walk through the town (which looked rough). A great day.

Sometimes things just have a way of working out. We chose a day trip to Blue Lagoon after missing our planned excursion to Rose Island. We kicked off our day with a pi?a colada in hand (a little early in the day but, heck, it's vaction) and explored the island. There was a lot to choose from: swimming, snorkeling, playing on the assorted rubber water toys/slides or just lounging in the sun or in a shady hammock under the palm trees. The island is also home to Dolphin and Sea Lion Encounters. We were able to view the entire Dolphin show from the footbridge (with the smugness of watching others get splashed) and then ambled over the sea lions and laughed at their antics. After the walk, we had lunch and listened to the singer/keyboardist play a medley of island and contemporary tunes. We then returned for more lounging (exhausted by all this relaxation :)) before the boat left to take us to our cruise ship. Not a bad way to spend the day and for the very reasonable price of $59 per person (lunch included). Two things to note: 1). We bought the excursion at the ferry terminal where the boat left from, not in advance as a cruise ship excursion. We saved $10 each by doing so. 2). We took the 2:00 boat back but could have taken the last one at 4:00. The return took less than a half hour, we were taken directly to our ship's pier and we had ample time before the ship's departure time (despite signs requesting we return by 4:30, other cruisers arrived as late as 5:00. Lesson learned for next time).

Adult daughter and I went for the sea lion encounter from our cruise ship. The encounter is one of the coolest things I have ever done, loved every minute of it and I wrote a review for that part of Blue Lagoon separately. Blue Lagoon Island is clean and looks fun. Like I said the encounters are great but the rest is just so-so. Beach is smallish but mostly clean. You can find a lounge chair pretty easily. The water is clean and shallow most of the way out. Large and small fish swim about and mostly seem unimpressed with the people wading around. Some kids were playing on the rent by hour water toys and seemed to be having fun. You really don't have a lot of swimming area like you do at Cocoa Cay, you just wade around a bit. We quickly got bored with sunbathing and went on to lunch. The absolute worst food of our entire vacation. I figured since we were there why not have an island bbq lunch. I paid 20 dollars a piece for our lunches and it was so, so, so bad! The bbq chicken was the shining star of the meal. You got to choose from , hamburger, veggie burger, or chicken burger. I got the hamburger and I can tell you it was not beef. No way! If anything it got mixed up with the veggie burger, HORRIBLE! The peas and rice were hard and dry. Pickled beets were ok. Lemonade was lemon tinted water. Daughter's fries were edible. Dessert was cookies that were like the value pack dollar store type. Ferry ride to and from was good, scenery was wonderful. If we do the sea lion encounter again, we will catch the ferry back to Nassau as soon as it is over. Not too fun just sunning on a lounge chair.
