The Red Brick Bridge is an amazing piece of history and the parklands around it are very well cared for. Love the area.

We travelled the convict trail from Campbell Town to Ross the Oatlands and Richmond on our way to Hobart. All these historical towns have great bridges of significance and in the case of Oatlands a great working windmill. The roads are very good and all the towns are easily accessible from the main road and have great eateries and amenities.

Pretty solid brick & stone bridge built entirely using convict labour from bricks they fired locally (1.25 million of them). The river was diverted 1km to run under the bridge after it had been built.

This was one of 3 bridges I really enjoyed seeing today. All are located along the Midland Highway and reasonably close . All have a great history. This one is circa 1838The other 2 are Ross 1834and Richmond Bridge 1823

A great range of delicatessen lines and snacks through to full meals.The food that I have bought has been high quality but so has the price.Coffee's are hit and miss, one day it has been good but un-drinkable the next.Service is also dependent on who is working with the men being quite abrupt and unaccommodating to children.Stairs to enter from the car park and access the toilets are steep and the outside ones are slippery during wet weather, suggest parking out the front for easier access.Their restaurant meals are very nice, with a warm log fire.

With a big tidy up and much renovations to make a walking bridge across the Elizabeth River, and a lovely park area built, it is an absolutely perfect spot to stop and view the Red Bridge and the convict buildings that surround it. Beautifully kept manicured lawns. Very inviting.

At the southern end of town between the Book Cellar and the Red Bridge Cafe with plenty of parking. The bridge and its environs are very scenic and make for great photographs.

Ordered two flat white coffees, one raspberry muffin and butter. Butter was 50 cents extra, coffee had enough foam to almost be a cappicino and very strong. Asked for another coffee no froth, 2nd coffee had even more froth. Requested some more milk so the froth could be removed and the coffee diluted, milk was tepid. I had been here two years ago and service, food and coffee were great. Service was carried out by sour faced staff and no apology for unsatisfactory coffee.

Great little cafe. Lots of local products to buy, great coffee and cakes available, and try the egg & bacon quiche! Make sure you get their relish with it as well :)Have wine, and all sorts of produce. Must stop as you drive past

Brilliant food - coffee and amazing heritage building. Well worth a stop. If you are looking for somewhere to buy provisions for a road trip/picnic etc you will not be disappointed.

This is such a lovely icon of history. Beautifully designed, you need to see it side-on from the park area on the left. It spans the river and is reflected in the water - idyllic.

Gorgeous bridge with a separate bridge slightly down the river to get a fantastic view looking back at the entire bridge. Beautiful tree sculptures right next to the bridge to admire as well

Take the time to stop and enjoy a coffee, you will thank yourself for it, the cake, fresh savories and even gifts to take home are wonderful and worth the stop.

Gorgeous bridge with very very tame ducks wanting to be fed. The colonial sculptures littering the highway are a lovely thing to see as you drive down the gorgeous countryside. Def worth stopping and enjoying some tassie history
