Checked out Fitzroy gardens on a Sunday morning prior to heading to the airport in the afternoon. Fantastic. We had lunch at the tearooms there and enjoyed all the birds and the peace and quiet after the noise and din of the city.

What a wonderful place to relax and unwind. We took the grandchildren (aged 6,3 &1) and they had a wonderful time marveling at the huge trees and running around in a pristine city park. We stopped at Jame's Cooks Cottage (admission fees apply) and they even liked that! The Tudor Miniature Village was also a hit!

You could spend the day here just relaxing, hanging out with friends and enjoying the heart of the city while feeling you're getting away from it all.

Lovely to find this garden across the road from our hotel. It provided a haven from the city vibe and allowed us to burn off some excess calories by walking. Lots to see and a lovely cafe, Captain Cooks cottage, fountains and some of Melbournes very different people!!

This is a large park in the heart of Melbourne. Clean and well kept, it is a lovely place to relax during a visit to the CBD. There is even a creek running through the middle of the park where you can feel like you are out in the bush.

Great expanse of gardens in the centre of the city, well kept and new cafe as well as Captain Cooks cottage. Very pleasant place to visit

take an hour out to stroll through the gardens anytime of the year. Visit Captain Cook's Cottage or the Conservatory, which has 4 different displays, rotated throughout the year, depending on the seasons. There are many little paths to follow and it is a delightful place to picnic or just take a rest and regroup if visiting the nearby hospitals.

Frankly it's breathtaking. From the Conservatory that was once Captain Cook's home and now houses incredible examples of beautiful flowers to the lovely walkways and statues and the absolute serenity, this place is a real gem and not to be mixed.

The Conservatory though compact, is bursting with colorful begonias! Great to see office workers taking a break and enjoying the sun. Several benches make for good lunch spaces. Beware of overzealous crows though; some are so brazen they'll swoop down on your lunch before you're done.

To escape the buzz of the city these gardens are a bit of relief. Love it that people use the park. Cook's cottage was a lovely place to visit too. Highly recommend it!

Another awesome green space in a city full of green spaces. Wonderful gardens, ponds, flowers, special monuments/buildings and avian life high in the incredible variety of trees. St. Patrick's Cathedral a block away.

Great lush green gardens even in summer. They are well located to the city centre so you can walk there easily. Toilets close by
