Perth Zoo is a lovely place to visit. The animals looked like they were happy and well cared for. As an avid animal lover I always check what condition they are in and how much space they have in their enclosures. The guides walking around were quite helpful and there was a lot of information about each animal. The only problem I encountered was the lack of signage. We were walking around trying to find the elephants, as they were being fed, and by the time we found them the feeding was over. More signage along the pathways would be a big help. Apart from that the zoo was excellent. Highly recommended.

I've been to a few different zoos and wildlife centres in Australia recently and I'd say this one ranks around the top. It's really large which kept me roaming around for a few hours. The animals looked like they were well looked after and there was a lot of reading material to learn about each animal. I was very happy with the experience when I walked out of the gate. All animal lovers definitely visit this zoo.

Get on the tram for a small fee but worthwhile as the guide explains and chat up everything about the zoo and animals. Cosy and nice place smack right in the city :)

Go to the zoo by ferrie . It is a good place for a day out. Kids will love it. Kangaroos are free, go and visit the big old crocodile saved from the leather factory.

We went full of enthusiasm but felt let down lots of animals not in the enclosure and any that were we had to find as most of them were asleep.

We may have been unlucky but we chose to go midday onwards when the weather had cooled down a bit for the day. The price to get in wasn't cheap but we wanted to say we'd been. Although once we got in we realised all the animals were sleeping because of the heat. Apparently we should have gone in the morning. We'd been told this by a visitor outside but didn't think much of his comment until Wed got inside. Although the walk was nice and there were still a few animals around we felt we missed out on most of the experience. Although to be fair I wouldn't have wanted to walk around if it were any hotter and with more people around. All in all a nice enough visit but I'd recommend going earlier if you can or not in the peak of summer.

We visit the Perth zoo a couple of times a year to see the animals and listen to the conservation work they are doing with other zoos and nature tourism groups. The walk through the Africa section always brings back Memory's of home
