Christmas2010
The streets are narrow and full of pedestrians and cars, but the museums here are good and a walk around the government buildings and the Presidents office is interesting. There are also little restaurants dotting the area.

Spend the day walking around the Candelaria and, ideally, have a local teach you a bit of the history and tradition of this place. The architecture is beautiful. Great for shopping also, or sitting in the plaza and people watching.

Unfortunately the massive number of students have destroyed the ambiance with graffiti and litter. This charming and ancient area allows one to dream of how once the beginning of Bogota must have been. Charming houses, theaters and now many bars and restaurants. Again, the unfortunate students cannot appreciate the irreplaceable architecture and atmosphere of this precious place. Two nice restaurants: The Hotel Colonial Calle 11) Abbeadia with great balconies and delicious steaks and atmosphere.and Restaurant San Felipe (calle 11 # 2-65.Where you can enter and see many typical rooms; EXCELLENT BREAKFAST

This is the business end of the Colonial centre of Bogota. Most of the city's historic sites are here, starting with the Cathedral in Plaza Bolivar. It's also said to be safe (although one should still be careful).

whihle the walks are steep, if you go on sat or the late week and all stores and restaurants are open, there are amazing venues, wonderful old historical sights. plus the great museum complex with the botero and museum of the republic together.

This area of the city is the most beautiful in Bogot¨¢. There's no comparison, even though its plagued with pigeons and a lot of homless people follows you to ask for money, the buildings, the streets and the air is just amazing. Give this area a day or two. You may fell in love.

This neighborhood holds some of the best history, museums and cultural activities in all of Bogota. It is accessible and easy to wander around. A must do in Bogota.

I liked the architecture, I liked walking in the area, I like the restaurants, I liked the picture taking! I disliked having to be out of the area before sunset.

Pleasant area with nice shops, old houses, and the Presidential Palace nearby. Worth taking the time to walk the streets. Old Bogota worth visiting.

Went to Bogota on a 6 hr layover. Walked many blocks and saw not much of anything that would make me want to return for a longer visit. Even some locals told us to not walk up certain streets. We were also awkwardly approached by policemen that wanted me to "come to breakfast and a museum tour" with them. Lots of terrible smells but it is not all bad. The surrounding mountains are lovely. It is just not enough to want to make you stay more than a couple hrs. Go to Cartagena instead!
