We came here for a day to explore this beautiful park. It was a challenging climb but the views and nature were especially worth the time and climbing. The paths were well maintained and it was not to busy. Bring your bathing suit! It is great to cool off at one of the lakes after the climb before hiking down again. For the geocachers amongst us, there is a lovely cach to be found here!

To get there you have to drive (or take a bus) and the road is not suitable for all kind of cars. I imagine that in winter is a bit harder to get there. The place is great, not expensive at all. I did not get to see the lakes but just to the first waterfall and it was great. You have to walk up the hill most of the time but the landscape is great so you will enjoy it! Get there early in the morning to avoid the crowded tracks and the heat if it is sunny.

If you love walking in nature up and down, swimming in a natural lake, enjoy trees, waterfalls, small lakes, used to walk 2hours up steep paths, if you are getting bored of fake stores and restaurants at Pucon tourist place...Huerquehue NP is the place you must come.Buses runs early in the morning around 8am and last bus returns around 5 or 6 pm. (Only 3 buses a day). You are obliged to pay entrance (around 10 dollar) just for nothing (as the good colored maps given with the entrance use to be finished (do your own sketch or a photo as you need it up )first kilometre is flat untill the end of the lake (Cars can go using the paralel piste)then 2hours going up steep path. Side paths goes to 2 waterfalls.Astonishing views from viewpoints. The way up finish and you reach 2 lakes. You may continue to other lakes. You are in a national park. If you swim is on your own responsabilitie. Skin creams are deathfull for fish and fauna lake and polutes so much the water. Dont get inside if you have cream added to your skin, please.

Be prepared to spend 6-7 hours on the basic trails around the lakes - it is worth the time and effort :-) Go on a clear weather day

Very enjoyable hike which included two great view points overlooking the lake and volcano. At the top there are three beautiful lakes that you can swim in if you wish. Towards the top you can also see the monkey puzzle tree. It took us about 3 hours to go up (including going off the trail to look at the waterfalls) and about 2 hours to walk back. It was a fairly comfortable trek with only about 45 mins of moderate difficulty.

? You can take the public bus to Huerquehue National Park. The bus leaves at 8:30 am and also in the afternoon . The morning bus is very popular so get there early. Upon arriving at the park you pay an admission charge at the office. We did the classic lakes trail which takes you through a bunch of beautiful lakes. It takes about 5 hours return. There is a lot of uphill climbing with wonderful viewpoints of Villarca. Seeing the monkey puzzle forests and the nice vistas make this a worthwhile hike. The bus will pick you up at 2:10 or 5:10. You can buy a return ticket on the bus. Definitely a worthwhile hike.

Kayak and picnic at the lake is a "must-do". Water is crystal clear and the view is amazing! Our guides prepared a picnic with cheese and local wine that we will never forget. We have four kids (from 2 to 8 years old) and they all loved it.

We did the three lakes circuit. Really beautiful scenery. The uphill climb is much shorter than the trail signs suggest and there's a couple of great views back to Volcan Villarrica. If you head to Lago Toro first, there's a puntilla you can walk down to for a great dive into the water swimming spot.

We went for a hike with the whole family to visit the cascade, the first stop when you enter Huerquehue. The trail was absolutely stunning with enormous native trees and unique wildlife. Perfect spot for birders and nature lovers, it is truly a magical scenario. We will definitely aim to the the longer trail next time we visit to reach las lagunas. You will need a car in good condition as the road that leads to the park is quite rough. There is food and water on the way and plenty of spots where you can rest and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and volcano. A true gem.

The Los Lagos hike is amazing... While there is a steep incline to get to the area of the lakes - the views are incredible to behold. Some of the lakes are a deep blue or blue green and the forested regions between the lakes offer shade and interesting flora and bird life. During the Summer we did struggle a little with the flies, but it was worth it!

We took a bus from Pucon and it took us under two hours to reach. The walk is not tough and very pretty. Def, a must do if in Pucon. :) We got drenched and decide to take shelter at the refugio - drank hot chocolate and were rejuvenated enough to go back to rain and walk more! :)
