I'm not big fun of churches, but Viborg Dome Cathedral or worth to visit, when you are in Viborg. There is entrance fee, but it covers entrance to Dome Cathedral, museum and climb up to the tower... Cathedral by itself is not a traditional as we use to see them in Italy or Germany. It is something, what you need to see by yourself!

The Domkirke dominates the skyline as you approach from the east. It is a fine building and hosts a number of free organ concerts throughout the year and some pay-to-enter events too. The acoustics for the organ are wonderful and there can be opportunities for 'goosebumps' when sitting listening to the King of Instruments. However, even when the place is silent what is most obvious in the high-roofed building is the artwork. Every available space has been taken to paint scenes from the Bible. It is a pleasure from an artistic point-of-view but even more so if you have some Bible knowledge. The murals start with the Fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden and then trace the history of the Bible on both walls and archway lintels moving forward to the main dome are of the Domkirke. The murals depict the content of the 4 Gospels and many parables within them. The betrayal, crucifixion and resurrection murals show that the artist was evidently aware of the deeper things of scripture which are included for the 'educated' to enjoy. The pictures culminate in the huge mural behind the altar of the Lord Jesus Christ seated on the Throne as the Victor over all things and the worshipping people of God surrounding the throne in worship.You can spend as long or as short a time as you wish in this place but you will come out impressed.

Jakob Skovgaard's paintings from the turn of last century fill this lovely church. Go into the crypt and look at the remaining parts of the old medieval church, once famous for crowning Danish kings

Viborg has an old charming city center with an old cathedral, well worth a visit. Visit both the main church room and the old basement under the churh.

Efter at v?re kommet i Viborg gennem 30 ?r, besluttede jeg mig for at se domkirken. Havde parkeret foran kirken mange gange, men et bes?g var det aldrig blevet til.Der var tomt under mit bes?g - ingen tjeneste p? det tidspunkt. Men hvilket pr?gtigt hus. Man fornemmer, der m? v?re en god akustik. Udsmykningen fra malerier til diverse skulpturer og andet isenkram er smukt og ?stetisk.Jeg har besluttet mig for at komme igen til en gudstjeneste eller kirkekoncert, n?r chancen byder sig

Det er en fantastisk kirke, hvor der er plads til mange (ca. 800). Der er en fantastisk akustik, og det er nemt at h?re pr?stens pr?diken, da der er h?jttalere rundt om i kirken.Kalkmalerierne er et kapitel for sig selv. De er s? smukke, og man f?r mulighed for at finde ud af, om man kan huske sin bibelhistorie.P? trods af, at jeg ikke bryder mig om den nye kirkeport, f?r Domkirken alligevel "Fremragende"Hvis man deltager i en gudstjeneste eller bor i Viborg Kommune, er det gratis at komme ind. Ellers koster det et symbolsk bel?b (10 kr.).

Relativ ny, men smuk og hyggeligt, samt veludf?rt bygningsv?rk. Jeg var der i november til bispeviele.

Virkeligt fremragende bygningsv?rk. Et vingesus af fortiden hvor konger er taget i Ed. Meget flot interi?r.

Selv om kirken er relativt ny, s? fremst?r den som en meget helst?bt kirke med ganske mange elementer fra den romanske og den gotiske periode. Freskerne af Skovgaard er en meget stor forn?jelse at se. Vi var til gudstjeneste i kirken og der var 200-300 mennesker p? en almindelig s?ndag, men sanggl?den og -evnerne var ikke overv?ldende. Glem ikke at se Skovgaard Museet ved siden af Domkirken.

Visit Viborg, kommer man ikke uden om Domkirken, g?ster der bor hos mig p? Motel Viborg bliver alid abefalet at se vores smukke domkirke med de fantastiske s?nne malerier og ikke mindst den nye d?r. Hvert ?r er jeg selv turist i min egen by, og atid en tur i Domkirkn

Per chi ama le atmosfere gotiche e fantasy, questa cattedrale ¨¨ l'ideale. Belli gli interni, il candelabro gigante al centro, splendidi giochi di luce del sole che entra dalle vetrate colorate sull'altare. Interessanti anche le catacombe.
