Interesting and cheap little art exhibit here put together by local artists when we visited. A good piece of history.

A unique and moving experience. You do not expect how big this place is and how well the "human aspect" of the war history of the island is revealed.I recommend visiting this place, especially during the warm time of the day, because in there is super cool!

Going back to the history... a hidden town under the town. Only 3 minutes from Adamas port. It really worths to see

I am disappointed this was not advertised better and it was not signposted at all well. Nevertheless, going in and around the bunker was an amazing experience. Never visited a site like this before and I'm glad I did. Apart from the history behind it, it is a great place for displaying art. Some of the exhibits were interesting. I loved the sound installation with interviews of the local elders about their war experiences. All of them were about the human interactions between occupied and occupiers and were told with affection and "bitter" humour. I wish there were more translations of these. I was really touched.

Really enjoyed the Bomb Shelter. An insight into how the people of Milos would have lived during Nazi occupied wartime

Really interesting exhibit, was recommended by our hotel owner. Was shocked by the extent of the tunnels. The exhibits are simple and thought provoking.

Die Insel Milos war diesmal unser Ziel, weil unser Vater von 1942 bis 1944 bei den Funkern dort die Stellung gehalten hat. Der strategisch wichtigste Punkt au?er Kreta wurde von den deutschen Soldaten in dieser Zeit voll ausgebaut. Die vielen Stellungen und Bunker beweisen uns diese Tatsache. In der Spitzenzeit waren fast 3500 Soldaten auf der Insel. Die Besichtigung von einem Bunker in der N?he Adamas hat uns den Atem anhalten lassen. Die vielen G?nge in dem Berg gemei?elt mit Treppen, Wassertanks und Luft?ffnungen und die gro?en R?ume waren die Schlafst?tten unserer Soldaten, um sich vor feindlichen ?bergriffen zu sch¨¹tzen. Hier auf dieser Insel wurde Schwerstarbeit im Krieg geleistet. Diese Pl?tze in Plaka, Adamas und an der Nordwestk¨¹ste sind noch nach 70 Jahren lebendige Zeitgeschichte des furchtbaren Krieges. Wir hatten dort ein eindrucksvolles emotionelles G?nsehautgef¨¹hl. Manche ?brigbleibsel, wie Gasmasken, alte Bilder, Bombenh¨¹lsen, Anz¨¹ge, Stahlhelme und einiges Mehr konnten wir in einem kleinen privaten Museum anschauen. Wer hier einen Angeh?rigen durch den Krieg verloren hat, darf nicht so traurig sein. Die Insel Milos wird sie alle gut beh¨¹ten. Der Besuch im World War Two Bomb Shelter lohnt sich auf alle F?lle.

Aperto un'anno fa, questo rifugio anti-atomico della II Guerra Mondiale ¨¨ un'esperienza veramente unica: i suoi cunicoli corrono sotto l'abitato di Adamas (l'ingresso ¨¨ dalla parte di Lagada Beach) e, grazie alle opere di diversi artisti e alle testimonianze di chi ha vissuto quel periodo storico, ¨¨ stato trasformato in un piacevole tuffo nel passato, anche se "piacevole" non lo era affatto ... Particolare la collocazione lungo i corridoi di tante cartoline di Milos appese con testimonianze, scritte in Greco ed in Inglese. Il prezzo di ingresso ¨¨ di 3€ a persona.
