Astra is a unique bar with great, inspired cocktails, awesome people and the fittest staff ever!! Astra could be the 'child' of a good old alternative jazzy,funky,soul bar in Athens' Psirri and a tropical South East Asia lounge bar. It is an Ios must-visit bar for an early drink, a late drink, a bit of dance, an encounter with notorious globe trotters and a lot of people watching (as it is located in a very strategic place in the entrance of Chora...everyone passes by!). Not in few occasions I've been tempted to visit Ios from Athens overnight just to have an Astra night..When on Ios just don't miss it!

From the moment I walked up the stairs I knew this was the bar for me - from the uplifting and sophisticated house tunes (much better than your typical Greek Island euro anthems) to the amazing yet inexpensive cocktails (real cocktails with real fruit - not just a 'sex on the beach!') Astra is an absolute must if you are visiting Ios. The decor is ambient, yet the atmosphere electric. The most friendly and welcoming staff and a great place to meet like-minded travellers - Astra is where the cool kids hang (including most of the island staff)! Once you've experienced Astra for the first time you'll go back every night. The staff were great and I've never tasted so many new and known delicious cocktails. Loved the music so much, it was one of the many things I used to look forward to everyday of the holiday, can't wait for next summer already!!!

Astra Cocktail Bar is a must if you are visiting Ios!!! From the moment you arrive at Astra you feel welcome- the staff are super friendly and it is a fantastic spot to meet fellow travellers. The Balcony outside is a cosy spot to people watch. The interior of Astra is extremely unique, colourful and warm. Decorated with lovely cushions, cool wall murals , candles and a great sound system. Everyone talked about how good the music is at Astra and I was not disappointed. The DJ, from Norway, played excellent House music unlike anything else on the island! Another highlight were the fantastic cocktails expertly made by the friendly bar tenders. They offer many original Astra drinks as well as old school classics. My favourite was the Watermelon Splash and I was delighted to see the Moscow Mule on the menu. We went here every night of our holiday and met so many new friends!

Great bar, great staff, great music. Without doubt the best bar to hit before heading on to a club for the night. Definitely one of my favourite spots on the Greek Islands.

Grape explosion is a must when visiting this place before heading out for a night dancing in Ios. Astra is a perfect place to start with it's amazing happy hour. 2 cocktails for €6. They're delicious!Atmosphere is pretty chilled and vibe is relaxed when it first opens up but I can imagine it could get busy later. DJ played good music and staff and service is great. A very cool cocktail bar!

This place is just great. It is right at the park at the front of the town and is literally the first place you will see, so it's very easy to find. The staff are very friendly and the fresh fruit cocktails are amazing. great music too.

From the moment you step foot on the steps of Astra you feel like one of the family - welcomed by all the wonderful guys and girls who work there, taken care of, shown a great time and meeting the best people and making the best friends there. Its not hard to understand why you see the same faces back there every night of your holiday - it is a place not only where you can chill outside and have the chats but you can also get your dance on inside and have the best of both worlds! I can honestly say it is my favourite bar in Ios hands down and I can't wait to visit again next year! Love you guys son much xx
