The hike from Wutachmuhle to Schattenmuhle is simply superb and well worth doing. It is about 12.5 km long and takes 3-4 hours. Most of it is fairly flat, although there are some steep, muddy and rocky sections it follows very close to the river and far away from any roads.

If you're going on weekdays, the Schattenm¨¹hle to Wutachm¨¹hle stretch of Wutachschlucht can be accessed easily by normal bus. (vs special bus on summer weekends)TIPS: Go to DB website or use DB app to find detailed bus route & schedule by keying in start & end locations. Some buses have electronic display showing next stop but some don't. DIRECTIONS: Take bus 7258 from Titisee-Neustadt bus station towards direction of Bonndorf (confirm you get the right direction when you board the bus). Get off at G¨¹ndelwangen Lotenbachklamm stop. Directly across the road, there's a path down (nice 30 minute downstream walk) that leads to the Schattenm¨¹hle carpark.SIGNPOSTS: There's map at the Schattenm¨¹hle carpark but no official signpost to the start of the hike. You need to cross the road, go pass the buildings to reach the start of the hike. After that it's generally well sign posted. The few junctions that's not officially signposted have unofficial signs or you can generally follow the river. CONDITIONS: Many parts of the path are wet or muddy even without rain. Generally, it's an easy hike and shaded. But there are some small up and downs all the way. A couple of places along cliff have a small gap to step over or are quite narrow. There's one toilet about halfway. COMING BACK: there are two bus stops (roadside & carpark) at the end of hike and a small place for snacks and drinks. Many options for return trip depending on the time of day, involving bus transfer to another bus or train. The one I took involved getting off at one bus stop and taking another bus at another stop. So do research on the routes beforehand. ENJOY!

A walk along the the creek is "A MUST" if you are in Schwarzwald.The beauty of the wild nature is awesome. The waters are running among the tall trees and the birds and wind playing around.

Finally after wanting to hike the gorge we knocked out the upper portion last week between Rotenbach and the Schattenmuhle. The hiking trail was nice through the forest just above and in some places 50+ meters above the river below. We'll complete the hike next year by completing the secion between the Schattenmuhle and the Wutachmuhle. There's a wanderbus that runs between these two start/stop locations so getting back and forth is simple and cost free (with the KONUS card) or Euro 3 per person w/o the KONUS.

Se trata de una caminata de unas 4 horas bordeando un r¨ªo y parte de un bosque. El sendero est¨¢ marcado y protegido con vallas en zonas peligrosas. Es realmente bonito y relajante, algo que no puedes dejar de hacer si visitas la zona. Para volver al punto de inicio hay un autobus regular.Ten en cuenta lo siguiente:- Lleva calzado c¨®modo adecuado para no resbalar e impermeable- Lleva provisiones, en especial agua- No es apto para ni?os (hay puntos peligrosos)- Parte del camino tiene grandes desniveles

Bei herrl. Herbstwetter ist es ein Genuss die Schlucht zu durchwandern. Allerdings sollte man schwindelfrei sein und gutes Schuhwerk tragen.

Si est¨¢s por la zona, y te gusta el senderismo es una ruta que no debes perderte. Nosotros la empezamos en el parking de Schattenmuhle y la hicimos circular. En algunas zonas de la ruta, el camino es muy estrecho y algo resbaladizo, porque a nosotros nos coincidi¨® que hab¨ªa estado lloviendo los d¨ªas anteriores y tambi¨¦n algo de agua el d¨ªa en cuesti¨®n, pero tiene su encanto caminar por la monta?a con un buen chubasquero y unas buenas botas de trekking. Hay una cascada con forma de cara, la identificareis al instante. Disfrut¨¦ much¨ªsimo. Muy recomendable!!!

wildromantisch und botanisch. Der Weg is ein wenig unbefestigt und speziell nach Regen, macht es keinen Spa?. Ansonsten hat die Schlucht 2-3 tolle Punkte, wovon einer direkt am Wasser ist und zum Picknicken einl?dt (vorausgesetzt man hat etwas dabei ;-) ). Einige schwere Passagen und f¨¹r Kinder bedingt geh bar.Ein sch?n Wetter Wanderweg!

Eine wild romantische Schlucht mit nat¨¹rlichem Bachlauf. Viele wundersch?ne Moosarten, Bl¨¹ten etc. Eine empfehlenswerte Wanderung.

Von Schattenm¨¹hle zur Wutachm¨¹hle oder umgekehrt, beide Ausgangspunkte sind mit Wanderbus erreichbar, schenkt einem ein wirklich wunderbares Wandererlebnis. F¨¹r das Auge wie auch als kleine Herausforderung. Die Schlucht ist gut bew?ltigbar (ich hatte nur Turnschuhe an, aber rutschte einige Male an manchen Stellen, Schuhe mit Profil sind sicher keine schlechte Sache), allerdings nicht f¨¹r ?ltere Menschen, die nicht fit sind oder f¨¹r zu kleine Kinder. Es ist eine wirklich wildromantische Strecke, abwechslungsreiche Flora, verschiedenste Streckenabschnitte, Felsen, Moos, Farn, Fluss, Stege, Kieselsteine.

Toll zu wandern. F¨¹r kleine Kinder aber nicht geeignet. Die K?nigsstrecke Schattenm¨¹hle zur Wutachm¨¹hle oder umgekehrt ist ein Erlebnis. Fest Schuhe, Trittsicherheit und zumindest ein bisschen Schwindelfreiheit sollte man haben.

Se quando si ¨¨ in Foresta Nera ci si vogliono concedere delle passeggiate nel verde, questa gola a Loeffingen, a met¨¤ strada tra Donaueschingen e il Titisee, ¨¨ quello che serve. Una decina di chilometri tra il verde e le cascatelle del fiume per respirare un paio d¡¯ore. Rilassante, basta avere le scarpe giuste.

Toutes les belles photos que nous avons prises... !!! Il faut par contre bien s'accrocher pour faire la grande marche jusqu'¨¤ "Schattenm¨¹hle" ; et le souci, c'est qu'en dehors du week-end, pas de bus pour nous ramener ¨¤ la voiture. Si vous vous trouvez "coinc¨¦s" comme nous, demander au bar d'appeler le "gentil retrait¨¦" qui vous ram¨¨ne pour 25 €. Pas donn¨¦ mais - moins cher qu'un taxi.

Fue una de las actividades recomendadas tanto por la recepcionista como por la gu¨ªa.Hay un bus que conecta Bonndorf con Wutachschlucht. A nosotros nos sali¨® gratis porque en el hotel nos hicieron una ficha que al parecer entregan a los que est¨¢n alojados. A menos de 15 min ya est¨¢bamos en la parada. Como era un poco tarde, hicimos la ruta m¨¢s corta pero la m¨¢s bonita y a¨²n as¨ª nos llev¨® unas 2 horas de caminata (unos 8 -10km), la ¨²ltima subida ten¨ªa bastante desnivel. El recorrido entero creo recordar que eran unos 16 Km.Hay tanta vegetaci¨®n que pr¨¢cticamente no se divisa el cielo, el suelo rebosa agua por donde quiera que pises.Hay varias cataratas pero desde mi punto de vista, nada impresionantes, son peque?itas.Yo lo recomiendo porque es muy bonito de ver aunque aconsejo un calzado adecuado.
