As the countryside is so flat, the view from the Bellfroi is extensive. It's a good place to appreciate this part of the French Coast. I must also make special mention of the the helpful staff in the Tourist Info office in the base of the bell tower. Although it was right on closing time when I reached the building, I was not turned away. The friendly lady on duty willingly answered my questions about local transport , and then provided additional information on specific attractions in the district. I was very appreciative of the good service, thank you.

If you go to the tourism office, don't miss the chance to go up and decide where to go next. A good thing is, that you don't need to climb all the stairs up, just a small part after the elevator lifts you up to the 5th floor. There is a carillon playing every 15min (probably not on Sundays) and you can explore the whole bell system.The staff at the tourism office is nice and willing to answer all your stupid questions :)

The lift was out and the mechanic was unable to fix it. So despite walking in the rain, twice, no see the tower.

En plein centre de Dunkerque, le beffroi offre une vue sur toute l'architecture de la ville. En plus de la vue extraordinaire, il y ¨¤ l'int¨¦rieur qui est tr¨¨s rustique. Tr¨¨s sympa. Epoustouflant, je recommande la visite du beffroi, en famille ou entre amis, il faut le faire.

Bonjour,Merci pour votre t¨¦moignage.Le carillon se compose de 50 cloches et sonne tous les quarts d¡¯heure.Mais de l¨¤ haut, c¡¯est tout simplement magnifique de pouvoir contempler le paysage en ¨¦coutant un morceau de la cantate ¨¤ Jean Bart !
