As with most French Office de Tourisme the staff are friendly & helpful but be warned, in high season the place is very busy.

All advise was that I should not cycle over the road called Cretes du Verdon - too many cars and coaches and generally very dangerous. I did this on Aug 1st leaving Castellane at 08h30, back at 13h00 and encountered almost no traffic until midday. Other cyclists had done it on the previous Sunday in identical conditions - so sorry - rubbish advise. There are also loads of routes with green cycles on - the tourist office know nothing about these and could not advise on good road tours :(

The range of activities available in the area makes a visit to the tourist information office essential. The staff were friendlyish but were very well informed and able to answer any questions. The range of leaflets and brochures available was very good.

Z Castellane jsme pl¨¢novali cestu ke Ka¨¾onu Verdon. V office jsme narazili na p?vabnou Slovenku ,kter¨¢ n¨¢m pomohla s informacemi na cestu.

Lugar pitoresco, com uma bela vista das montanhas e do rio Verdon. Os funcion¨¢rios do "Office de Tourisme" eram muito sol¨ªcitos e me ajudaram a reorganizar meu roteiro j¨¢ que planejava, a princ¨ªpio, visitar os campos de lavanda, que segundo eles, n?o seria poss¨ªvel v¨º-los pois as plantas haviam sido cortados h¨¢ alguns dias. Havia uma feirinha com produtos locais e as pessoas da cidade eram muito acolhedoras. Um dos melhores lugares do sul da Fran?a que j¨¢ visitei.

Prettig geholpen door een Nederlandse medewerker. Er worden meerdere talen gesproken. Veel informatie te vinden. Parkeren voor de deur kan niet. Maar aan beide kanten van Castellane zijn gratis parkeerplaatsen.

Alle informatie over activiteiten in de regio kan je er vinden.Er zijn ook heel wat wandelingen te verkrijgen. Deze kan je daar inkijken, maar het is handiger om ze te kopen. (Kostprijs € 0,90) Op deze fiche staat de routebeschrijving alsook een kaart. Daarnaast vind je er ook uitleg van de streek op. Zeker een aanrader!
