This was one of the highlights of our week in CdP. Mathias was a great host, and you can tell enjoys his job which made the visit even better. Tasted both Blanc and Rouge, and enjoyed being able to experience different producers at the tasting. I think we bought three cases there alone it was so good. Will be back!!!!!

Les Caves Saint Charles was by far the best experience I ever had, from the many types of wine we had and knowledge you gain from the regions wine to the atmosphere of the Pope's old cave system. Mathias was our sommelier and he couldn't be more friendlier despite our bad French, his English was very good. I thought the prices would of been very high but they were priced very good so we brought home a couple of bottles we don't dare to open yet.I can't believe we found the place the way we did, we were looking for it not trying to be late but you can get so lost in those windy streets. Wish we had more time or another day to spend there

The only shopping you can do in Chateauneuf du Pape is definitely wine. There are literally hundreds of cellars and wine shops in which you can taste and buy wine. Guy's place is different in a few aspects: First, he is not a producer, thus can be more objective when presenting and recommending certain wines. Second, the setting in an antique cellar is very impressive. Guy is well-traveled and speaks fluent English, which is a blessing for many tourists. As is the case with the whole upper village paring is a nightmare, but Guy has a small space and will expertly park your car in his diminutive lot.There were only the two of us, and we extremely enjoyed the tasting and explanation. P.S. Guy will also ship abroad.

One of the highlights of our trip, our traveling companions had visited twice before so we all went this time. Guy (pronounced Gee) know their wine but are not pretentious about it, eager to share their knowledge and ready to focus on your taste. They offer excellent shipping arrangements as well.

My wife and I visited this cave after reading reviews on Trip Advisor, talking with friends, and then speaking with some folks in France. Everyone had one thing to say: this is awesome. And it is! The cave is beautiful, Guy is a warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable fellow, and wines are unbelievable. They are spectacular. This review would not be fair if I did not single out the one thing (apart from the wine) that makes this an excellent experience, and that is Guy - the owner and sommelier. Guy is just awesome. He made us feel so welcome from the very first minute, and his knowledge seems unmatched. Thank you so very much.I cannot recommend Le Caves Saint Charles highly enough - please visit!Finally, they may be doing a Chef's table there in the future. I will definitely return and do this one day!

How disappointing. We travelled to Chateauneuf-du-Pape having arranged an appointment with Guy and exchanging e-mails the previous week to confirm, only to find a locked door. No response even we waited and continued to knock. Even an e-mail to Guy didn't get any response. Finally we gave up and wandered into the centre of the village where we found Daniele Brunel at Caveau Brunel on Rue de la Republique. She was incredibly helpful and didn't try to push a sale on us as so many places do. We had an hour of tasting and learning from Daniele and we will certainly return in the future. I highly recommend Caveau Brunel. I won't waste any more time attempting to contact Les Caves Saint Charles

We had a wonderful time tasting wines from Chateauneuf-du-Pape with Guy. He was quick to respond to my email asking to book a reservation. The cave room where we had the tasting was a beautiful setting. Guy is extremely knowledgable about wine and a natural teacher. He taught us how to slurp the wine and we all worked on pinpointing what flavors were in each wine we tried. It was a fabulous experience, and I highly recommend it!gbremond@aol.com

We had such a wonderful wine tasting time at Cave St. Charles with master sommelier Guy! The atmosphere is fantastic (inside a real cave), and the hospitality and wines tasted were wonderful! We highly recommend a visit to this beautiful place during your tour of the Chateauneuf de Pape region.
