Another great piece of art, after visiting Varatec Monastery.The main value of this monastery is the interior painting of Grigorescu. Masterpiece!

I am a spinner and weaver so our Hungarian guide asked if we wanted to stop in this monastery to watch the nuns weave rugs. We decided to go and WOW was it ever great. The church is a jewel and so well kept up. The workshops where the nuns were knitting on machines over 100 years old and then the weaving of the tapestry rugs was wonderful. They are all so dedicated. Almost 300 nuns live here, many of them in cottages that are along streets outside of the monastery. Flowers were everywhere - it was so peaceful and inviting. Many famous people have come there for R & R and I can see why. If you are close, be sure and take advantage of this lovely monastary - you'll be glad you did.

This a very historical site and the inside was an awesome sight. The architecture is amazing and you can sit in the wonderful-wood-scented cushioned pews and relax. I absolutely love this Monastery.

The Agapia Monastery it is one the the most important nuns monastery from Romania. It was founded between 1641-1643. What make it famous in the world are the frescoes painted by the great painter Nicolae Grigorescu. Everything what is connected with that monastery means beauty, spirit, peace and serenity. We talk here about flowers, buildings, paintings, carpets, books, many things made by the nuns. Here it is a oasis for collectedness and rest of the spirit. Come and see the blue sky above you from the courtyard of the Agapia Monastery.

One of many monasteries in the area...but with hosting some 500 nuns a very lively one. Make sure to be at the right time and see one of the nuns 'hammering around'during prayer time. Has also one of the best maintained museums with many paintings, carpets, books, etc. And the attention to detail outside plus all the flowers on each balcony a little paradise on earth.

E' un Monastero femminile dove vivono pi¨´ di 200 suore in casette circostanti, all'interno del plesso, costruite a tale scopo.L'interno della costruzione principale assomiglia molto a quella degli altri Monasteri della Bucovina. Siamo stati colpiti da un coro femminile in diretta cantato durante la ns visita.Non ci hanno impressionato i dipinti sulle icone che - di solito - fanno parte della visita del piccolo museo ivi istituito.Da sottolineare i laboratori laddove le monache producono abbigliamenti e tappeti venduti a prezzi accessibili.Una visita da fare, ma senza indugiare troppo.

Il monastero, ove vivono circa 300 suore , colpisce per il suo ordine, il suo silenzio, ed i suoi giardini e balconi molto curati.Le suore di dedicano anche alla produzione di tappeti , logicamente fatti a mano , sciarpe, berretti, ed a dipingere icone.Molto bella la visita dei laboratori nonch¨¦ quella del museo.

Tra tutti quei monasteri che ho potuto visitare durante il viaggio in Romania, questo di Agapia ¨¨ sicuramente quello che pi¨´ di tutti mi ha interessato. Non tanto per la sua architettura che ¨¨ pi¨´ o meno simile agli altri, sebbene questo sia forse un po' pi¨´ ordinato e pulito, ma soprattutto per i suoi laboratori. Infatti le suore di questo monastero dedicano gran parte delle loro ore di lavoro alla produzione di capi d'abbigliamento e anche di tappeti; venduti a prezzi tutto sommato molto convenienti. Io per esempio ho comprato una semplice bella sciarpa che mi ¨¨ costata se non mi ricordo male qualcosa tra i 5 e i 10 €. Il monastero ha anche un piccolo museo dove poter vedere le sue icone esposte e anche altri paramenti sacri. Vi suggerisco magari di non dedicare troppo tempo alla visita delle icone, pu¨° diventare davvero noioso, mentre lo spenderei di pi¨´ per la visita dei laboratori.

Superbe monastere semi-chateau visit¨¦ en 2010. il y avait quelques travaux. magnifique balcon sur tout le pourtour des batiments superbement fleuris de centaine de jardineres de toutes les couleurs. Un petit musee ¨¤ l'interieur ¨¤ voir. Nous avons eu la chance de visiter l'atelier de reproduction d'icones ...splendide!!! l'interieur de l'eglise un regal des yeux!!!! Visit¨¦ la Roumanie c'est magnifique si l'on fait abstraction de la pauvret¨¦, les petits village typique et villes: TAZLAU/TULCEA/BACAU/ENISALA/BRASOV/GALATI/CONSTANTA...
