This Linnansaari can be reached from Rantasalmi or Oravi where the boats bring you there. This area is a home of one of the very rare seal "Saimaannorppa" There`s only about less than 300 in whole world. Most of them live in Haukivesi and Pihlajavesi area around Savonlinna. In Linnansaari there`s a small camping place but not any Inn or Hostel. Nearest is in Oravi. During the winter time Linnansaari can be reached by Ice skating..it`s really fun! Also from Oravi or Rantasalmi!

I have always seen seals during spring time and had good luck when fishing. Saimaa Holiday services from Oravi or J?rvi-Syd?n are well organised.

I have been in Linnasaari many times. In wintertime you can rent skates in Oravi, Savonlinna, Linnasaari is about 5km away. In summertime only way to get there is by boat. Rent a canoe or go with water taxi, it's up to you. Scenery is excellent! If you are lucky, you'll see "norppa" aka seal of saimaa. There is only about 300 norppa left in whole world... In linnasaari, there is couple of hiking routes across the island (between 1km to 7 km). Prepare to climb some hills if you choose the longenst one. Sammakkoniemi is the name of the camping area. If you choose a tent, it is free of charge. There is also small cabins awailable. And sauna, of course :)

Beautifull area in a midlle of the most beutifull part of Finland. The Lake Side. See the Lake Saimaa in it`s very best. Take a hike and keep your camera and binoculars ready. Maybe you will see those very precious animals?

I liked that there was not any waves. The nature was untouched becouse it was a national park. We had an excellent guide from Rantasalmi

Peace, quiet, privacy. You can only get there by boat, so if you don't want to rent a rowboat (recommended), you can use the reasonably priced water taxi. Take a mobile phone

This national park is an island. You need a boat or canoe to go there Those can be found from J?rvisyd?n holiday village in Rantasalmi or from Saimaa Holiday in Oravi.

prachtig natuurpark moet er wel naartoe met de boot (nogal duur) en ge moet minstens twee dagen gaan voor het te bezoeken !! kampeergelegenhijd

abbiamo provato il menu completo del linnansaari gli antipasti erano davvero buoni abbiamo assaggiato i peperoni in bagna cauda e le alice marinate tutto squisito forse un po'scarse le porzioni i primi di terra eccellenti a base di selvaggina le pappardelle al cinghiale erano divine il conto un po' salato sui 300€ ma mangiare cucina italiana in mezzo ad una foresta infinita di abeti punteggiata da gioielli lacustri e' un esperienza impagabile
