Beautiful medieval paintings in the ceiling and pretty church yard surrounding. Very calm but cozy! Worth a visit and not far by bike!

St Anne¡¯s church on Kumlinge is a must if you ever come to Kumlinge in the Aland archipelago. The church is hidden in the forest a kilometer or so north of the village. It¡¯s from the 14th century and some of the objects inside is of even earlier date, the 13th century. What make St Anne¡¯s so valuable are the paintings covering the walls from the 15th century that are unique for Finland. The church is normally kept open for the public during the summer weeks.
