Not crowdy even in peak seasson. Some of the finest "chiringuitos". Best time during "Tuna seasson" , from april to june, when huge red tuna are migrating towards the Mediterranean for spawning (breeding). Some (too many) are netted by local fishermen with the ancient technique of Almadraba. Local chringuitos have been cooking and serving Tuna since... before no records (pre-romans already did so): No body cooks tuna as Zaharian?s. While in the beach, beware of the wind and some tidal currents. Follow life-savers instructions allways. Swimm safe & enjoy.

Sandy beach, beautiful surroundings and, if you walk past the river even in the height of summer, it is never overcrowded

We stayed here in an apartment by the beach here out of season. If you enjoy long walks along a golden sand beach with few people about (the first day we only saw a handful of people) then this is the place to be out of season. However, if you enjoy all the services (restaurants, cafes, etc) then in season may be best.The place virtually closes up after September but the temperature is quite good into October. This beach is great but the next beach south is even more remote and also worth a visit. the lighthouse (tricky to get to) at the southern end of this more southern beach has spectacular views to Africa and along the immediate coast.There is nothing much here so shopping and eating out will need to be in the town s to the North (a short drive) and there are places to go but a car will be necessary

Really lovely beach that goes on for miles. Less crowded than nearby costas and worth the extra hours drive from Marbella. Good places to eat and sun beds are plentiful. Nearby Tarifa has some great places to eat in the evenings. Car is essential.

Just make sure you get there before October, as it all shuts down and its very quite. Summer would be the only time to go.

Incredible! The beach is fantastic, very natural. It has a lot space and the water is very clean. The beach invite you to walk and relax.

This is a great beach that should not be missed. Five miles long with gorgeous sand and warm water. Quiet and beautiful.Was surprised that the beach was so nice. Much better than Malaga or Marbella.

Just the right amount of sun, sand, people watching. There are also some amenities on the beach like snacks and drinks available. It is also possible to rent a beach chair for the day at a reasonable price

Was visiting lot of the beaches on Costa del sol but this one I like more than all. As I understand correctly this beach stay on one mountain so difficult to sweem cz of the stones around. But when ocean go back it's like pool u can see all stones and sweem and also water get warmer quickly. Well if move a lile far from public beach u can quietly stay naked cz no one is around. That's very important when u wanna get rest just noize of ocean, sun, and beach.

This was our favorite beach on Costa de la Luz. Softer sand than some other places and not very crowded at all. The clear water was warm enough for plenty of swimming in early June. Another plus was a (relatively) clean and spacious bathroom! We didn't take advantage of the beach bars but there were several there.
