With kids, after seeing both Dolphin Tale movies, it was a necessity!! :) We opted for the Dolphin Adventure, we were able to see all of the aquarium and ride on a guided boat, which was not only exciting to see the Dolphins, it was peaceful and comfortable! We had a blast!

I've read a few other reviews complaining that the cost is too high or that there isn't enough to see and do. I paid 53.95 for a combination ticket that gave me access to the aquarium, a special behind the scenes tour as well as the sea life safari boat tour. I thought that this could be about a three hour experience and budgeted about that much time for my visit. I heard that it was a small aquarium and there wasn't much to see. I could not have been more wrong. My behind the scenes tour was supposed to start at 11:00 am and the boat tour was set to begin at 2:30. The behind the scenes tour lasts about an hour and so I got to the aquarium at about 10:00 thinking I'd have plenty of time. I didn't. It was 5:00 and I still felt that I could have stayed longer without being bored in the least. I did a behind the scenes tour the next day at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa and it was certainly a nice tour but the Clearwater Aquarium behind the scenes tour was better. The boat tour at the Clearwater Aquarium was more fun and more enjoyable than the other similar tours that I have been on in Tampa / Clearwater. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful and you can tell how much they care about the animals and wildlife there. I can't stress enough how much more that I got out of that six or seven hours there than I got out of a seven hour trip to Busch Gardens last year and it's a wonderful feeling to know that the money that you spend there goes to such a great cause. Truly a remarkable experience.

Don't be fooled by the name - this isn't a typical aquarium. It's a rescue and rehabilitate - if it's at all possible, the animals are returned to the wild. (We saw a large green sea turtle that was ready for release - they were waiting for the final ok from the vet to release.) If it's not feasible, due to the injuries or other criteria, then they are cared for at the aquarium for the rest of their lives. You'll see Winter of Dolphin Tale fame, but there are also otters, sea turtles, a couple of pelicans, nurse sharks, etc. While we were there, a new green sea turtle juvenile came in and we were allowed to watch the intake while they assessed his/her health, injuries, etc. That was fascinating to me - to see them in action. Their dedication to the animals was very apparent. If you get the chance to go, you should. They are remodeling right now, but it didn't interfere with our tour at all.

We loved visiting the aquarium. We could see that the trainers and staff really loved the animals. Yes it is small but we were told they are trying expand. I believe they are doing what they can to help the animals they have. I don't believe there is anything going on that shouldn't. They do not have animals stuffed one on top of the other. The otters I believe are kept separate because one can't use its back legs. We will be going back next year and taking my four year old nephew. We loved the ride on the boat to the other facility. Captain and first mate were very friendly. The captain even stopped the boat so that we could watch a dolphin swimming about fifty yards from the boat. He pointed out places in Clearwater to visit. We will definitely be going back and watching their progress.

This place needs to be called a rescue center, not an aquarium. They have a few dolphins, turtles, sting rays, otters, and 2 sharks, which are all kept in a relatively small area. Given that it is called an aquarium and cost over $20 per person, our expectations were significantly higher. We are wishing we had done more research and gone to Tampa instead.

If you're in Clearwater Florida, you must stop by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It's a little place, but it is home to Winter the Dolphin (same one the movies are about). It's just a great place for both kids and adults. We go every year when we're in town.

Loved it, especially because it's not your "sea world type" of aquarium. They rescue injured animals and get them back out into their natural habitat, if they can be released. What an awesome facility! However, many only care about their own selfish wants and needs and may not be satisfied here. Thankfully, the rescued dolphins, winter and hope, are drawing them in, which helps them to continue doing such a great job. If you care abou animals, you'll love it here!

My daughter loves dolphin tale. We surprised her with a stop in Clearwater on our way home from Port Canaveral. It was a great experience. Note to everyone....traffic in the area this time of year (march - april) is horrific. This should have been a 2 hour drive and it turned into 4 due to construction in the area and spring break traffic. Also make sure and check out the additional adventures before you leave. They book up 2 months in advance for this time of year. However the general admission ticket was plenty for us. It gave you access to see the dolphins and the whole marina plus a trolley and boat ride to the other facility. It was a great day.

So much fun! So much to do! My kids 11 to 15 loved it and had a blast! We were there from open to close and still missed some of the presentations. We did the dolphin tour and behind the scene, I wish we had time for the Safari and more presentations but time got away from us. I do recommend that you wear tennie shoes because you will be walking back and forth. :)

Just would like to say this really isn't an aquarium but kind of like rehab for the wildlife. It is sooooo amazing how these beautiful creatures are taken care of. You have dolphins, Winter, Panama, Nicholas, Hope. You have turtles, otters, you have pelicans Lucky and Ricky. This is an extraordinary facility. I wish I had lots to $$$ to donate to help. They treat the animals with such love and care!! My very first visit was before the movie was released. Since then they have expanded and it's lovely! I try to make it my business to visit the rehab everytime I visit a very good dear friend of mine who lives in tampa. Thank you for helping the wildlife, may you inspire others to do so. God Bless. Please keep up the good work, i appreciate it and enjoy it. P.S. I also enjoyed watching dolphin tale.
