Loved walking thru with guide showing us the different paintings, and desks belonging to the different characters that emerge in As leaders and governors of Texas' unique history! Learned that it's the only state to have ever been a republic in its own standing. A foreign country within our states? Amazing!

Tour guide was very informative and friendly, plan to attend early, as with a large crowd you need to go through airport type security lines. Plan at least 2 hours to see the capital.

The grounds, the buildings, all of it....majestic! Took in the free tour offered and found it most interesting. But judging by the amount of people coming and going it leads me to believe there is just to much government in all of our lives,

This is a great way to spend a couple of hours. It is free in and well worth a visit. It is a fantastic building with some great history.

We just stopped by with no plans or reservations and walked right in (thru security) spent an hour or so looking around. Pretty cool portrait of Sam Houston along with statues of other famous Texans.

For a tourist, magnificent place to visit at least once! There's lots of places to visit while in Austin. Don't forget UT and kayaking in the river!

The size, the architecture, the walk up from Congress street, the rotunda...all worth a half hour of time to see. You can also take a longer tour, but that isn't necessary to get the feel of this wonderful building.

The renovation is complete. The grounds are stunning with so much to see outside, you know the inside will be amazing. Inside, the woodwork is amazing. The floors are stunning. Everywhere you look make you feel like you are stepping back in time. There are four floors above ground to browse through. We did not do the tour as there were just too many people there during spring break. The people who work there were all very nice and took the time to talk to us. You can tell they are proud of their building.Underground, there is even more. Take your time, it is well worth it!

The spirit of Texas, the bigger the better!!! So there comes the State Captiol! It is even more spectacular at night, thus it worth visiting twice.
