It's a little hard to find. I was coming from the "wrong" direction for the sign. Once I went down the road & turned around, I saw the sign directing me to the park. I don't know if it always seems as desolate as I felt it was, but it was raining when I was there. Gave a real spooky feeling to looking inside the tunnel, which is guarded by a chain link fence. I understand the park itself is a work in progress, but there's a mighty fine statue memorializing John Henry.Not a whole lot of information; I assume they're working on that as funds become available. Still, I enjoyed the walk in the rain to look at the tunnel and the statue.

besides the statue of a man that most kids these days have never heard of, there is the entrance to the old Great Bend Tunnel, now with a floor of water...next to the old tunnel is the operational one which if lucky, you will see a train....and over in the other corner of this hidden park is a tiny train world for kids, with signs, and mini train cars to sit in and work the levers....there is also a port a jon, and a covered picnic pavilion on site
