When it's cold and wet in the middle of winter and we look for a place to visit it is invariably an art galleryThe Burra Gallery is always a must when in Burra ( apart from YE Olde Lolly Shop :-) )With new works and exhibitions its great for artists and non artists to visit to see what everyone is up toPop in, it's worth a visit, you will be pleasantly surprised

This was our thrird trip to the Gallery and over time the exhibits vary. There are Historic painting by S T Gill, a slidewho of local photographers' work and the main exhibit thae day we were there was an intriguuing social experiment-sort of exhibit where the artist Martin Shaw challenges visitors to record their guesses, or imterpretations, of his work "Three well known Australians". Not only that, there were many letters he'd received in response to his invitation from many widely varied people - religious, political, sporting, cultural and quirky categories of people who wrote some charming, straightforward or philosophical replies about their reaction to his pating. Really enjoyed this exhibit. We will be back.
