We spend some hours at the beach mid of september and rented a 25 hp boat at a hotel in Vathy.Lovely unspoiled beach, cristal clear water and perfect scenery. Bring your own food and drinks!Just 10 tourists at the beach and great for swimming.Don?t miss that beach, when you are on Ithaka. In summertime it is much more crowded, but a beach bar is opened for a snack and drinks.

Places that are a bit harder to get to are usually some of the best and Gedaki Beach fits the bill.It is possible to take a water taxi from Vathi for the afternoon but the trail is a better option. It is a very nice walk, good trail and beautiful views. The beach is outstanding with chairs and umbrellas for rent. Although a wide expanse of beach, only a few people were there and we were the last to leave about 5:00pm. There is also a snack bar offering tzatziki, Greek salads, and the best octopus I have ever had...and I went twice and had it twice. Crystal clear water, good sun, cold beer & wine...life couldn't be any better!
