Lovely little 'village' that you walk around and can peer into or walk around houses, blacksmiths, school, bakers, bee-keeper, a windmill, veggie gardens. Very traditional. Not much info about things and it would be better if guided (we just walked around). But on a nice sunny day its a beautiful place to visit and a nice walk around the area as its on the edge of the Aasee

If you're in town for a couple of days take a leisurely stroll along the banks of Lake Aa to the cultural museum. Close to the zoo as well.

A big plus for the museum. I would actually rate it with 5 stars. Its very interesting an well made. You get a good feeling of what it was like in the area a century ago.Only two to three stars I have to give to the employees. They have been rather rude and unfriendly. They seemed quite annoyed. However, there was an old man working for the museum who was really nice and explained us all about bees and showed as around the beeyard. During a nice summer day and a tour around the Aasee its definitely to recommend, as its located directly next to the Aasee.

This restaurant is part of a very old farm. Most of the buildings including the windmill and grounds date from the 19th century and are well-maintained. That's why they call it an open air museum. Very friendly staff.

We walked to this open-air museum from town on a beautiful footpath next to the lake. The museum itself was well-worth the price (2,50E reduced, 4E regular) and well put-together. You can go into a lot of buildings which represent the traditional M¨¹nsterland farmlife. There are a lot of different items to see. The mill was also really cool, and there was an exhibit on mill technology. Some downsides: -the artifacts are not always well-displayed, so you get the feeling that you're looking into someone's attic. -Not a lot of written information, so I wish we'd gone on a tour-the baker was present, but didn't tell us what time the baked goods would be ready, so we missed themSome positives: -being able to go in a lot of houses and buildings-there are peacocks on the grounds - SO COOL

An old windmill, reconstructed old houses, some sheeps, really a pleasant experience. you can't learn much online about it so you must go and see for yourself. There is a boat from the Aa lake, or the bus number 14.

the area gives insight in rural live two centuries ago. It is worth a visit with a guide on your side, telling stories from the very old days,what happend in the home of the big farmers or in the small school.

When one is heading towards this open air museum, one fears one is going the wrong way. Driving though the very busy centre it is unbeleavable that just few minutes later one ends up in such a rural landscape. Not a sound of cars or whatever, just birds singing... It is not a gigantic open air museum, but it is a lovely one.

Mit 250 Kollegen dort am Abend gewesen zum Essen und Feiern. Alles Top und gut organisiert. Auch die kurze F¨¹hrung war sehr lebhaft.

Es ist immer wieder ein Freude, mit G?sten durch das Freilichtmuseum zu schlendern - viele alte Bauernh?user, Schmiede, Backhaus sind sch?n anzusehen, und man lern vielo ¨¹ber das b?uerliche Leben iin der ersten H?lfte des letzten und im vorletzten Jahrhundert.

Klein, aber fein: Das Freilichtmuseum ist eine nette Adresse f¨¹r den Familienausflug am Sonntag. Immer wieder tolle Aktionen und Angebote - Besuch lohnt sich!

We zijn hier met 6 volwassenen geweest en hebben een erg leuke dag gehad. Wij hadden het geluk dat het mooi weer was, dus lekker op het terras kunnen lunchen, was ook prima in orde. Museum ziet er verzorgd uit en de medewerkster die bij ons uitleg gaf, deed dit ook prima, ze deed ook erg haar best om de kinderen van de bezoekers erbij te betrekken.

Das " M¨¹hlenhof - Freilichtmuseum " in M¨¹nster ist ein kleines , ¨¹berschaubares Museum . Dort stehen ca. 25-30 kleine und gro?e Bauten . Es gibt eine kleine Schmiede , ein Backhaus , eine Bockwindm¨¹hle , einen Weberkotten , eine Landschule , eine Zichorienm¨¹hle , ein M¨¹hlenhaus , eine kleine Kapelle , einen Gr?ftenhof , eine Wagenremise ,ein Bienenhaus, Bauerngarten uva mehr .Die meisten Geb?ude sind zu besichtigen und mit Hilfe eines gebuchtenF¨¹hres ( 40 € f¨¹r 1 Stunde an Werktagen) bekommt man viele Anekdoten , Sprichw?rter und auf jeden Fall : Einblick in die Vergangenheit - das Leben unserer Vorfahren . Durchweg kann man das ganze Jahr Veranstaltungen und Ausstellungen in diesem Museum besuchen - manchmal nur mit Voranmeldung . Im Bienenhaus wird Honig geschleudert , den man erwerben kann und manchmal hatten wir das Gl¨¹ck in einem Bauernhaus leckere "dr?ge " Mettwurst zu ergattern ( die es bis jetzt niemals bis nach hause geschafft hat , sie ist schon auf der Heimfahrt in unseren M?gen verschwunden) !Trotz seiner N?he zur Stadt - man h?rt auf dem M¨¹hlenhof keinen Verkehrsl?rm . Es ist dort wirklich entspannend . F¨¹r`s leibliche Wohl gibt es den " Dorfkrug " ; kehrt man dort ein ( man kann auch drau?en sitzen ! ) l?sst sich der Besuch des Museums leicht auf 3 Stunden ausdehnen !Das Museum ist nicht nur f¨¹r Erwachsene sch?n , sondern auch f¨¹r Kinder . Diese haben in den Sommerferien die M?glichkeit an einem Ferienprogramm teilzunehmen ( meist mit Voranmeldung ) , aber um genaueres zu erfahren , werfen Sie einen Blick in den Veranstaltungskalender f¨¹r die Sommerferien . Es lohnt sich wirklich .
