This is the lovely main street leading up from the Claddagh Bridge over the frothing and foaming river up into the main shopping area of the City. But before heading for Dunnes and the like, browse the historic Claddagh Jewelry shop head a little further into Quay street, browse the menus and maybe stop a while for a relaxing pint of something dark with some tasty seafood and chips. I recommend the Quays, Martines, or the legendary Ta Neactains pub.

Quay street pronounced "Key" is to me the beating heart of Galway with a variety of buildings all colorfully painted, pubs on every corner, and shopping options for all sorts of Irish treats. Walking Quay street is such a treat both during the day and at night. It is not to be missed while visiting this city.

Everything you need is on Quay Street!! Great pubs, restaurants and lots of entertainment. Walking down there a couple of weeks ago we came across Nathan Carter singing and playing a guitar outside the local music store on a Saturday afternoon. He was fundraising for a brilliant charity. The street was buzzing everyone singing along and having photos taken with him. That's what Galway is all about......

This street has great bars and restaurants and shops. Lovely to wander around the pedestrianised street or sit outside and take in the atmosphere

Quay Street is several things all wrapped into one. It has great restaurants, interesting architecture, interesting people and even interesting entertainment. Many street singers and musicians secure their spots along the street and proceed to entertain the passersby for coins. It is a unique experience, especially for someone who has just entered Ireland for the first time, as I did. By all means, plan to spend some time walking the short distance which is Quay Street. Bring your friends. They will be transformed.

Loved the charm. So many choices. Very walkable city with interesting shops and local vendors. We would certainly revisit.

Nice and cosy pub.Friendly staff, just a shame that we were told the music would start at 9.30pm but it did not start until midnight.

I love Quay Street full of life day and night, but then Galway is a buzzing city, both day and night, and so much variety to suit everyones taste. Great shopping experiences, and fantastic food.
