Great museum. Worth a visit if you have a day in Kalmar. I think they were pretty good about making it accessible for English and German speakers as well.

Had an excellent guide tell us all in English about the fascinating story of the explosion of the warship Grogan. Gave lots of history in an interesting away. Was very good to see this after seeing Vasa in Stockholm. Very good display and most in English which was helpful. If you stay you stay at marina with boat you get 2 entrance for price of 1. Allowed to take photos here as well

Oops -- I just posted my review for THIS museum on the county museum's review board. Apologies!This was a wonderful museum, located on four floors in a lovely facility. Each floor, more or less, is devoted to a specific subject. The most popular and interesting in the sunken ship. Researchers have been working there since the 1970s and their "booty' is interesting to see. Also the videos on the explorations and the interviews with the researchers were very good.

Nice museum with a unique exhibition about Kronan the frigate who sink in a war between Denmark and Sweden.For being a County museum its a real nice place to visit even with kits

Bei unserem Urlaub auf ?land in Schweden durfte auch das Landesmuseum in Kalmar nicht fehlen. Sehr interessant wird ¨¹ber Ausgrabungen bei Sandby geschrieben, dort befindet sich eine Fluchtburg die nun erforscht wird. Auch ¨¹ber das gesunkene Schiff Kronan wird ausf¨¹hrlich berichtet, der Geschichte wird ein ganzes Stockwerk gewidmet. Im Erdgescho? befinden sich sehr viele geborgene Kanonen. Unbedingt sollte man auch das liebevoll gestaltete Cafe im Museum besuchen, es gibt Kaffee, versch. Sorten Tee und kleine Gerichte, sowie Kuchen. Sehr lecker und rundet den Besuch im Museum ab.
